Stockton and Brookdale Unite for Student Success
In an important stride toward enhancing educational pathways, Stockton University and Brookdale Community College have renewed their Transfer Pathways agreement. This collaboration extends a framework initiated in 2018, aimed at facilitating a seamless transition for students from an associate to a bachelor’s degree.
Streamlined Transition for Students
This agreement streamlines the process for Brookdale students looking to further their education at Stockton. Those who complete their associate degree at Brookdale can transfer with junior standing, allowing them to pursue their bachelor’s without losing time or credits.
Moreover, students who earn at least 45 credits at Brookdale could receive a retroactive associate degree, further simplifying their educational journey.
Expanded Opportunities in Atlantic City
A newly introduced facet of the agreement allows Brookdale students to engage in Stockton’s Live-Work-Learn Atlantic City Summer Experience. This unique program not only provides students with work experience and housing but also fosters a closer relationship with Stockton even before they transition from Brookdale.
“Living beachfront at our Atlantic City campus is an unparalleled experience,” said Stockton President Joe Bertolino, emphasizing the combined benefits of work experience and financial assistance for housing costs.
Creating Lasting Educational Partnerships
Brookdale President David Stout echoed these sentiments, expressing pride in the partnership that lowers costs and enhances learning experiences. The commitment shown by both institutions is a testament to their dedication to providing students with not just education, but enriching experiences that aid in building their future
As such, this renewed partnership not only highlights the importance of collaboration between community colleges and universities but serves as a model for similar educational agreements across the nation.
