Primark Expands Its Footprint in New Jersey
As part of its ambitious expansion plans, the international value fashion retailer Primark is set to open its fourth New Jersey store at Newport Centre in Jersey City this August. Scheduled for launch on August 14th, the store will span a sizable 37,500 square feet, showcasing the brand's extensive range of affordable essentials and trendy apparel for families.
Primark's Growing Influence in the U.S.
Since establishing its presence in the U.S. back in 2015, Primark has opened 26 locations, with New Jersey being a key market. Besides Jersey City, the retailer also runs stores at American Dream in East Rutherford, Freehold Raceway Mall, and The Mills at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth. With a global workforce of over 80,000 across approximately 450 stores, the brand is eyeing a significant increase in its store count, aiming for 60 locations in the U.S. by the end of 2026.
Job Opportunities for the Community
As it prepares to welcome shoppers, Primark is actively seeking to fill both full-time and part-time positions. The company is offering competitive pay, starting at $15 an hour, with opportunities for salary increases after six months. This move not only contributes to the local economy but also underscores Primark's commitment to creating jobs in the communities it serves.
Exciting Opening Weekend Activities
To celebrate its grand opening, Primark will host a rousing weekend event. The festivities will include a DJ, giveaways, and tasty treats for attendees. A highlight for families will be a special meet-and-greet with characters from 'Bluey,' including Bluey and Bingo, scheduled for August 16th.
What This Means for Jersey City Shoppers
Primark's entrance into Jersey City represents more than just an expansion of retail options; it positions the store as a community hub for families seeking fashionable yet affordable clothing and home essentials. As shoppers anticipate the opening, the integration of fun and engagement at the event promises to enhance the shopping experience and foster a sense of community.
