Centenary University is embracing a sense of pride as it announces its 2026 Athletics Hall of Fame class, which honors remarkable former student-athletes whose contributions have left an indelible mark on Cyclones athletics. This announcement comes during the university's Alumni and Family Weekend celebration, culminating in the induction ceremony scheduled for January 31 at Reeves Gymnasium in Hackettstown, NJ. This proud tradition of acknowledging excellence not only boosts school spirit but connects the local community, spanning Sussex County, NJ, including towns like Andover Borough and Sparta Township.

Leading the Charge: A Lineup of Champions

At the forefront of this year's class is Meagan Madsen, a softball standout (2011–2014) recognized as one of the most decorated players in the program's history. Madsen's powerhouse pitching and leadership were pivotal in achieving multiple winning seasons, making her a role model for aspiring student-athletes in Northern NJ.

Joining her is Chris Burdge (2010–2014), whose accolades extend to becoming an All-American wrestler. Burdge's accomplishments have shaped Centenary’s wrestling legacy and serve as inspiration for local youths in sports.

Not to be forgotten is Jess Sikora (2004–2007), a key player in women's soccer at Centenary. Sikora exemplified excellence on the pitch, contributing significantly to the program's successes. Likewise, Nigel Archibald (2002–2005) is acknowledged for his leadership and solid performance in baseball, key to establishing the Cyclones as conference title contenders.

An Historical Team Achievement to Remember

Additionally, the 2005 Centenary Baseball Team will receive special recognition as the Team Inductee for their unprecedented championship win and historic journey to the NCAA Regional Tournament. This echos the sentiment of community pride among the athletic populace, highlighting a collective narrative that resonates with sports enthusiasts across Sussex County.

A Lifetime of Achievement

Lastly, Fred Mangione, class of 1993, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for his continuous commitment and professional success, demonstrating the values of leadership instilled by Centenary University. As the newly appointed chief business officer of the FIFA World Cup 2026 New York New Jersey Host Committee, Mangione’s story inspires both current students and the greater community, showcasing the extended impact of a Centenary education.
