Thrilling Competition Awaits at Sparta High School
SPARTA, NJ – Excitement fills the air as the Marching Spartans prepare to host their annual US Bands marching band competition this weekend. The event, set to kick off on Saturday at 2 p.m., promises a lively afternoon featuring 13 impressive bands from the region, all competing on Cassels Field.
For those new to marching band events, organizers want you to know that this is more than just music; it's an art form. “Whether you’re a marching band fan or have never been to a competition before, it’s a fun way to spend a fall afternoon right here in Sparta,” they shared. This year’s lineup includes notable bands from across Sussex County, such as Wallkill Valley, Jefferson, Hackettstown, High Point, and Vernon, among others. The highlight of the competition will be the Sparta High School Marching Spartans, who will take the field for their final performance at 5:45 p.m., before the highly anticipated awards ceremony.
