A Launchpad for Local Talent

The festival kicks off on August 7 with the HAF Short Film Showcase, set to take place at the Charles J. Muth Museum of Hinchcliffe Stadium. This opening event will feature nine compelling films crafted by independent filmmakers who portray diverse narratives and perspectives – offering audiences a profound connection to the artists' unique voices.

Engaging Playwrights and Their Stories

On August 9, enthusiasts can gather at the Great Falls Center for the HAF Playwright’s Reading and Talkback Series. The event will spotlight Covenant Farm, a poignant piece by Brigid Amos, a talented local playwright whose work reflects the interconnectedness of personal and communal struggles. The festival culminates on August 22 and 23 with full-stage productions of 3000 Days of Abandonment, crafted by Joseph Classen, this year’s Playwright-in-Residence. Classen, who has converted personal family trials relating to incarceration and deportation into a powerful narrative, links the festival's themes of resilience and healing to broader issues of social justice.
