Update Kelli Glasgow Takes the Helm: A New Chapter for AIA Newark & Suburban Architects On February 12, 2026, Kelli Glasgow, Associate Principal at DIGroup Architecture, stepped into her new role as the President of the American Institute of Architects Newark & Suburban Chapter (AIANS). This is a significant moment not only for Glasgow, who has a vision for the future of architecture, but also for the 600-plus members of the chapter in New Jersey. As the largest local AIA segment in the state, the chapter holds a strong influence in architectural practices and education. Championing Architects as Community Leaders Glasgow's presidency comes with an agenda focused on enhancing the role of architects in society. She aims to establish architects as visible leaders, educators, and advocates within their communities. "Architects are uniquely positioned to lead – whether in classrooms, communities, or civic conversations," said Glasgow. Her vision incorporates three strategic pillars: increasing student membership, raising public awareness, and fostering member engagement. Building Connections: Students and Architects Together A standout feature of her platform is aimed at expanding student membership and access to the architectural profession. Glasgow plans to build partnerships with an array of educational institutions, encouraging young people to explore career pathways in architecture.
