Celebrating Community Impact: CCM Gala 2023
On April 30, the County College of Morris (CCM) Foundation will host its highly anticipated gala, themed "One College, One Community, One Special Night," at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park, NJ. This gala not only recognizes community partners but also serves as a significant fundraiser aimed at supporting students and various educational programs at the college.
Honoring Valued Contributions
This year’s gala will pay tribute to several key contributors in the local community. The Philanthropy Award will be presented to the Gilead Foundation for their generous $150,000 grant towards the upcoming Center for Health Professions, supporting vital health equity initiatives. Crum & Forster will receive the Community Partner Award for their exceptional financial and mentorship support for CCM's Promise Program, which aims to provide scholarships for underserved students. Additionally, Hurley Fox, a 2015 alumnus and a successful local business owner, will be honored as the Alumnus of the Year for his commitment to student scholarships.
Community Engagement and Future Directions
Marcela I. Lenox of the West Morris Area YMCA will also be recognized with the Dr. Edward J. Yaw Leadership Award for her outstanding work in community leadership and engagement. This award highlights the importance of local leadership in fostering educational and social initiatives that benefit all of Morris County.
Supporting Future Generations
The CCM Foundation plays a vital role in stimulating educational opportunities and workforce development, contributing to the prosperity of Morris County and surrounding areas like Sussex County, Andover Township, and Newton. The funds raised during the gala will directly benefit students in their academic pursuits, ensuring that financial barriers do not impede access to education.
Join the Celebration
Participating in this gala represents more than just a night of fine dining and entertainment; it is an investment in our community's future. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are still available through the CCM website, inviting residents from Northern NJ, including Byram Township and Fredon Township, to take part in this community celebration. Engaging in this event demonstrates a shared commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and supporting local initiatives that uplift the community as a whole.
